GabrielaGabriela Roman, Executive Director

Gabriela Roman is the Executive Director of Spanish Coalition for Housing. Previously, Ms. Roman was the Director of Development at SCH and secured over $3.5 million dollars in funding for the organization.  She comes to the position with a unique passion for housing and a drive to ensure the economic development of Chicago’s under-served communities. Ms. Roman holds a Masters’ Degree in Urban Planning from the University of Illinois at Chicago, Nonprofit Management Training through Georgetown University McCourt School of Public Policy and has twenty years of experience in the community development arena.  Throughout her career, she raised over $21 million in grants from government, foundation and corporate sources to strengthen Chicago’s communities. Coupled with over 17 years of non-profit management experience she brings extensive skills and a unique perspective to the leadership of Spanish Coalition for housing. Additionally, she is actively involved in community development as Vice President of the Chicago Low Income Housing Trust Fund and as Housing Co-chair of the Chicago Community Development Advisory Committee.  She looks forward to supporting Spanish Coalition for Housing as it continues to grow and provide necessary services for families in need.

TinoLaurentino Ramirez, Southeast Chicago Office Housing Counseling Manager

Laurentino Ramirez, Housing Counseling Manager is currently responsible for the SCH Comprehensive Counseling Program at our Southeast Office. Likewise, Mr. Ramirez has received training and is certified by NeighborWorks for Housing Counseling and Loss Mitigation and Becoming Effective Managers. Mr. Ramirez has been with the agency for over 12 years and has provided direct counseling since time of hire.

 

 

Emillio

Emilio Carrasquillo, Hermosa Office Housing Counseling Manager

Emilio Carrasquillo serves as Program Manager for the north side office. He brings with him 13 years in retail management, a background in real estate, loan origination and has 9 years’ experience as a Director in the nonprofit housing management field. He has served as Co-chair of the Midwest Region for HomeOwnership© Center Managers as well as the National Homeownership© Center Managers Advisory Board with NeighborWorks© America. He also served as chair of the Advisory Committee for the Office of Conciliation for the Archdiocese of Chicago, 9th District Advisory Committee for the Chicago Police Department and is currently on the Board of Peace and Education Coalition of Back of the Yards, New City. A lifelong resident of Humboldt Park, Emilio is focused and passionate on creating housing opportunities for Latino families all over the Chicagoland area.

jenniferJennifer Singletary, Human Resources Administrator

Jennifer Singletary is the Human Resources Administrator for SCH. Jennifer served in the United States Army as a Sergeant for six years and holds a Master of Arts Degree in Human Resources.  She credits the Army for giving her the tools needed for her leadership roles, instilling values and inspiring passion for helping others. She has been with SCH for three years with multiple roles and strives to make SCH an organization where people thrive, partnerships prevail and performance excels.

 

 

Jackie

Jacqueline Vicenteno, Accounting Manager

Jacqueline Vicenteno is the Accounting Manager at Spanish Coalition for Housing. She has worked with SCH for over 6 years, first as the Accounting Assistant and worked hard to move up the SCH ladder to then become the Senior Accountant. Overall, Jacqueline has 9 years of accounting experience, 8 of which has been working with Non-Profit and Grant Accounting. Throughout her career, Jacqueline gained extensive experience working with Federal, Corporate, and State/Local Funds. Jacqueline holds a Bachelor Degree in Business Administration from Robert Morris University. Her upbringing in a predominately Latino neighborhood, Back of the Yards, is what made her passionate about giving back to Latino communities in Chicago.

 

Joseph Lopez, Development Manager

Joseph Lopez has over 14 years of knowledge and experience in community and economic development field, strategic resource and program development, including fund development, marketing, communications, operations and public policy. Lopez has held professional positions in the State of Illinois and City of Chicago governments that included housing development, urban planning, municipal bond financing and strategic fund development /investment within the public finance /capital markets and venture capital industry. Alumnus of DePaul University with extensive training and management education from University of Illinois, DePaul University Kellstadt Graduate School of Business and Georgetown University McCourt School of Public Policy.  Lopez is a results oriented, detailed analytical professional. Lopez has proven success in public/private sector partnerships, public policy development and has served as entrepreneur leading a consultation firm Envisage Strategy, that has focused on comprehensive community development, public health, policy development, technical assistance, capacity building, organizational and resource development for small to mid-size nonprofits as well as academic, cultural institutions and units of government throughout Illinois.  Earlier in his career, Lopez has held roles of Policy Advisor and Analyst for Economic Development and James H. Dunn Jr. Memorial Fellow in the Executive Office of Illinois Governor and Senior Project Manager in the Performance Management and Operations Team with the City of Chicago.
