Spanish Coalition for Housing has been buzzing with excitement in anticipation for the long awaited come back of Camino a Su Casa, which as many know, was last held in 2008.
Camino a Su Casa will feature SCH’s Pre-purchase counselors, Madeline Morales, and Anna Jimenez, both of whom will be hosting workshops on the homebuying process. SCH pre-purchase counselors help prospective homeowners make their dreams of owning a home a reality. Madeline said doing this type of work is incredibly gratifying. This type of counseling is making a profound difference with families, the community’s development, and sustainability, and Camino a Su Casa, a free housing resource event, is the perfect place to get started on this path.
With just three days left until the doors open at Arturo Velasquez Institute, Madeline wanted to speak to the importance of this momentous event:
There are a few things I’d like to say: First, I know that by providing the right education and guidance to first time home buyers it ensures the best financial decisions from the beginning.
Camino a su casa is a great way to meet the entire homebuying team under one roof so you can get to know who you’ll be working with on your journey. The home buying team consists of Lenders, Realtors, Insurance Agents, Pre-Purchase counselors, and more! At this event you’ll have access to valuable home buyer workshops, one-on-one counseling, and appointment setup. You also have the opportunity to meet with many lenders and see which one is a good fit, rather than having to do the research by yourself. Every families’ homebuying team looks different and we’re going to be there to help build a custom one for you.
Second, the best advice I can give when getting started is to get as much education about the home buying process as possible. The more that you learn about the process, requirements to purchase, and options available to you, the better you will feel about the decision when all is said and done.
After you are done taking in all your information and meeting your potential homebuying team, you should schedule your appointment with a pre-purchase counselor, which you can do before you leave the event. Your Pre-purchase counselor will give you an action plan listing the steps that it will take to achieve home ownership and he/she will guide you through the process to ensure success.
Camino a Su Casa is your families’ first step to home. Gain access to everything you need to know to get started at the Arturo Velasquez Institute this Saturday, August 6, from 10am to 2pm.
All good things,
The SCH Team
