The Micro Market Recovery Program is an exciting partnership with the City of Chicago to address the surge of vacant homes in neighborhoods with high rates of foreclosure. SCH is part of the South Belmont Craigin target area. Through this program we help prospective homeowners that are looking to purchase/occupy a home in the area and current homeowners that want to make repairs to their homes but need to access funds to help cover costs. The financial assistance available is in the form of subsidies and forgivable loans for the community area below.
For more infomation about the program itself, please visit the City of Chicago’s website.

SCH MMRP Trolley Tour Event
On Saturday, July 12th about 100 prospective homebuyers gathered for a trolley tour of the Belmont Cragin community to see available homes and amenities of this vibrant neighborhood. Spanish Coalition for Housing and Northwest Side Housing Center coordinated the event. The tour also featured bank representatives, realtors and community partners who gave additional information about purchasing a home. Participants were able to speak to all organizations and were also given the option to tour homes in the area that qualify for the City of Chicago’s Micro Market Recovery Program Purchase Assistance programs. These MMRP specific programs entitle homebuyers to up to $15,000 in down payment assistance and $35,000 in rehab assistance. Afterwards, tour participants were treated to a cookout and raffle. State Representative Luis Arroyo, Cook County Commissioner Luis Arroyo Jr. and Alderman Ray Suarez were in attendance and pledged to bring more housing resources to the residents of the Belmont Cragin neighborhood. We would like to thank all of our collaborators for making the Homebuyer Fair and Trolley Tour such a success!
