Camino A Su Casa – A Path to Homeownership
CHICAGO, IL: Spanish Coalition for Housing is thrilled to announce the Camino a Su Casa Homeownership Resource Fair on August 6, 2016 at Arturo Velasquez Institute, located at 2800 S. Western Avenue, Chicago, IL. This event marks our first Homeownership Resource Fair since the foreclosure crisis hit in 2008, which overshadowed the possibility of homeownership for so many. Camino a Su Casa offers Chicago’s prospective homebuyers – the hardworking individuals and families who dream of home ownership– the opportunity to learn about the home buying process, access to resources to improve their financial fitness, and discover homebuyer assistance programs all in one place and is free to attend.
Attendees will have the opportunity to meet with bank representatives and realtors, many community vendors, government agencies, attend workshops on financial literacy, homeownership, down payment and closing cost assistance. “This event comes at a time when more families than ever are on the threshold of homeownership. We know that housing is at the heart of financial stability, and we are going to help individuals and families across Chicago and beyond get there,” said Gabriela Roman, Executive Director for Spanish Coalition for Housing.
